2018 – Happy New Year
Happy New Year from myself and our amazing staff at Buckley Recruitment.
Thank you to the 500 plus of you who worked for us in 2017 and did a great job representing our company in its first year of business. Many of you will already know this since you have pretty much worked for me solid for the past 5-6 years but for those that do not, I always re-employ good workers who deliver beyond expectation. I try and keep these people in consistent work once they have proven themselves as a reliable & trustworthy contractor. Much of the repeat work these people receive is because our clients always ask for them back when more work comes in meaning the most part of why we are able to keep them in work is down to their hard work on the job representing us in the first place so a big well done to all of you and thank you for your hard work whilst flying the flag for Buckley Recruitment. 80% of all of the people who worked for us in 2017, worked for me in 2016 too and in 2015 and even back in 2014 so for those who had their first assignment with us in 2017, it is more than likely we will have you back on board with us very soon.
Those who applied for positions with Buckley Recruitment last year but have yet to get the opportunity to work for us, please continue to apply. We don’t always make the final decision as to who starts. We can only suggest, give our opinions and try to influence a decision but ultimately the selection is always made by our client based on a number of factors including the quality and detail in a CV. If you don’t hear from us after applying for a position, please pick up the phone and give us a call, those that pick up the phone are always more likely to get a start and please note we cannot always respond to every single applicant, we try but sometimes it is impossible considering we have had 800 people apply for 1 position in the past.
We are already involved with some of the industry’s leading companies in various locations across the UK and Europe and have a number of substantial projects to look forward to this year. Major project locations this year include Aberdeen, the Scottish highlands, Newcastle, Belgium, Denmark, Norway & Offshore in the North Sea.
To those that do not know me, please note after so many years in the industry I have been instructed by my clients to let go, or should we say sack a large number of people over the years for things you wouldn’t believe, basic competency issues and for reasons most would be ashamed to admit but lets not go into that, as a professional it wouldn’t be right to disclose this information. The truth can hurt sometimes, I feel it is always better to tell individuals the true reason why they are being released rather than fob them off with a lack of work or some other false reason and since some people are unable to accept responsibility for their own actions they sometimes instead decide to direct their anger at us or blame us entirely and seek revenge by broadcasting slander & lies on social media platforms. Whether its been a bullying issue or a competency issue we have no choice but to endure the abuse as we have to deliver the bad news – I have certainly had to do my fair share over the past 13 years. Obviously if a contractor is let go due to a competency or a health and safety issue we will not reemploy that person again in the future and we do tell them this. This does upset people but we cannot take any risk by using them again so please don’t believe everything you read on facebook. See for yourself how we operate, don’t listen to comments from a small minority of people in what is a huge marketplace – I guarantee everyone who works for us is always paid correctly, on time and that we are paying the highest possible rates we can on every assignment whilst always delivering above and beyond expectation. In 2017 we helped people obtain qualifications, offered free training, helped people gain government funding, assisted people in financial crisis by offering advances, help with accommodation and short term loans.
